Posted February 14, 2011 08:19 AM Hello. Brand new to the forum. I've been reading the forum's for awhile and decided to join.. There is a lot of good advice here and I am in need of some myself. I recently purchased the 24 inch charbroiler as well as an fec 100. I'm having an issue with the broiler not heating up as well as I thought. The middle is hot but about 5 inches from both ends don't really get up to temp. I've read where people are cooking great steaks and chops on this and I just...
Since the ribeye's and Conecuh sausage turned out so well, just had to share. Paid a little extra for a 17# prime whole ribeye but it was worth it! https://www.facebook.com/Baile...arn-113362518746394/

Just picked up a CB 36 to try out for a couple of weeks. I can cook a great ribeye on our Traeger but have always longed for the grill marks. We are getting some requests for steaks with our catering business and think the CB units will be the answer. It is kind of a different beast than the indirect only heat I am used to. Last night I fired it up for the first time on HIGH heat and let me tell you, it is HOT! We did a couple of 1 1/2 inch think ribeyes for lunch today. About 2 minutes,...
recently purchased a unit, loved it at first after two weeks we are having issues despite cleaning the fire pots out after each use we are experiencing this unit not lighting consitantly when it does burn it jams with pellets and they burn all the way up the ramp called a few times but havent heard back from anyone regarding the issue any insight B.
Bought a CB36 for outdoor kitchen (not yet built) this past week from a guy online. Unopened, hope it's not too good to be true. Supposed to ship out Monday... Someone please tell me it's the ULTIMATE backyard grill for someone who wants the best flavor w/ convenience of gas. That's what I was shooting for, and the price was too good to pass up. That is of course as long as it comes in as expected.
Hey all - On my CB 36" Charbroiler at the restaurant, I finish my ribs with a glaze, which is heavy on the brown suger. Great taste, great finish, but leaves a mess behing on the charbroiler which doesn't "burn off". I painfully clean it daily, and wanted to ask how some of you are cleaning yours ? I just scrape and scrape, but open to other ideas ! I'm contemplating having a machinist friend of mine fabricate me a stainless tool cut to an angle matching the angle of the grate openings for a...
I bought a used 48" charbroiler that I plan to use in our new cafe. Burgers, chicken, seafood will be what we run on it for the most part. May venture into offering a steak. What flavor pellet do you guys prefer? I don't expect smoke like I have from my Amerique at home, but do hope for a flavor profile that can't be matched on gas. Would it be possible to split flavors? Hickory on one side and apple on the other? Divide the hopper somehow? Can't hardly wait to fire up the CB.
A little background. I was looking for direct grilling space in an insulated pellet grill, but I wanted to stay with Cookshack, so I ordered a PG1000 from a dealer in Lawton. That was on a Monday. Went to the casino on Friday, put $20 in a $5 machine and hit a jackpot. Went in Monday morning and called the dealer in Lawton to see if I could cancel the order for the PG1000 and order a CB036. I already have two FE100s so I didn't need smoking space. The order was changed. When it was...
I need to replace one of the ignitor rods on my CB036, which I have - Does anyone know if there is any diagram or written instruction for this ? I haven't been able to find any, thanks.
Any one know where I might be able to see a PG500? I am looking to buy one and would like to lay my hands on one. I live in E. TX and am traveling to Denton, Tx on Friday and Moore, OK on Sat and Sun. Thanks
With either the PG1000 or a Charbroiler CBo24 how does the direct cooking method work? How are the pellets distributed to get an open flame under the entire cooking grate area? On the PG1000 if you have a large brisket or rack of ribs and they hang over the direct grill a little, are they going to get more heat at that end? I have only seen one PG500 cooking at an off road race and didn't get to see inside while he was cooking. Asked him a bunch of questions, but didn't think of that until I...
just for your info. I did a large pancake breakfast. I have 2 48 charbroilers. I put 2x2 griddles on the grills that gave me 16 sq ft of cooking space. I was able to do 20 large pancakes or 36 regular size on med heat. people prior yrs could do only 8 large. now the job is mine. I know I can do French toast and potatoes. nice addition to my business without buying or renting additional equipment.
So, people have asked, here's what we did last weekend. Did corn on the FE Pellet Grill: Did Veggies and Steaks on the FE Charbroiler. Initially I just ran the one side for the veggies (burner 3). One thing, the HANDLE of the basket sure gets HOT Potatoes: Bought a whole Ribeye, cut up the steaks. NOte the SMOKE, that's from the CB: End result, look at those grill marks. the cast iron grates work perfectly.
Help gang! My CB036 went down at lunch rush hour today, fuses look ok. any ideas ??? Thanks gang
As I posted in my other thread in this forum titled "Hello", we installed our new 36" charbroiler on Monday (we are closed Mondays). I fired it up on Monday to season the grates and to be sure it was in good working order....and because I was dying to fire it up.. It worked well for the first 10 minutes or so, then the far right fire pot extinguished itself. For reference, the 36" has 3 pots and two controllers. The left controller controls the 2 pots on the left, and the right controller...
I want to see if I can get sear marks on shrimp I grill on the charbroiler. Any ideas?? I have to be careful because Shrimp cooks so fast. Thanks John
Purchased a mobility scooter carrier with ramp off of ebay for $197.00 including shipping. It was rated at 800 pounds but I discounted it to 500 pounds. Have mounted the FEPG500 on it with a few modification to the grill. I installed “D” rings on all four legs and then used turnbuckles to secure the grill to the carrier. Being somewhat anal retentive, I also used two straps. Drove it around today and was happy with the results. I suspect that the FEC100 will also be ok on this carrier but...
