I am on my second Green Mountain pellet smoker and still am not happy with the amount of smoke flavor in the meat. I have tried several things and am just done. I think its time for a new machine. The Cookshack SM045 looks promising but before I go even deeper in the hole I want to be sure that I will be happy with the amount of smoke flavor it produces. Being that it uses real hard wood and not compressed pellets Im hoping this is the right direction. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Hello- I am planning to purchase an electric smoker in the near future.. I have narrowed it down to a Cookshack Elite 45 or a Smokin It 2D. I want something large enough to smoke 5 to 7 racks of ribs without having to cut them in half. I will also be smoking brisket and pork butts. The Cookshack 025 would probably work for me but I didn’t want to get something to small and regret it later. Temperature where I live usually falls into the 20’s so it will need to be able to hold temperature...

Any experience with the stand that is available for the Somekette Elite? At $400 I would like to hear a lot of positives before pulling the trigger! I think it would be great not to have to bend over due to bad hips and knees! Thoughts?

I am getting ready to purchase my first smoker. I have been told that the Fast Eddy "Pellet" will produce more smoke flavor due to the actual combustion that takes place then the SMO66. Is this true? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now have a 25 cookshack and would like to purchase a 66 in excellent shape and shipped to Bosque Farms New Mexico 87068. Any body got one, can be called or texted at 505 269 6888 with info. If I find a 66 I would be selling my 25 built in 3/8/2012.

I'm trying to decide if I should purchase a cookshack SM025. They look like a very good product. My question is how do they perform in cold weather? I live in Northeast North Dakota. Our temps get down to 2o below and colder. I would like to use it in temps at zero or a bit below. Would I have a problem with using it in these temps? I would be cooking pork butts, brisket and maybe a turkey in the winter. Thanks for the help.

Need some advice. I have had my SM045 for about 8 years now - going strong and I love it! Occasionally I need a bit more capacity. I have the opportunity to buy a lightly used (literally used twice) SM025 - includes the stand/cart option. Retail for all is $1325, I can pick this up for $600. What are your thoughts about doing this to add capacity or holding out to eventually buy another SM045 or an Amerique?

All, I have an opportunity to buy a CS Model 55 for $300. My questions are: 1. Good price? 2. Which current model does it compare to in size? 3. Is the newer digital control that much better at maintaining temperature than analog?

I am new to all of this. I watched a FastEddy video and he smoked his ribs on the indirect surface of the PG500 for 4 hours Is there any difference between cooking this way on the PG500 as opposed to smoking in the vertical FEC100? Seems like the same to me...??

Considering first pellet grill purchase. Now leaning towards PG500 over MAK, largely due to price, but also due to more readily accessible direct grilling. Now came across FireCraft Q-450. Stainless steel with direct grilling available and significantly cheaper than PG500. Also has PID controller and built in probe port and can stop cook when meat reaches temp. PG500 lacks the meat temperature probe. Overall quality of PG500 appears superior and it is American made bs Chinese. Thoughts? By...

I am considering purchasing a 2nd hand PG500. It is 6 years old. Are there any areas of concern that I should focus on with a unit of this age? Mechanical parts that tend to wear out? I'm told that nothing has been replaced or repaired in the last 6 years. How long do the auger motors and controllers and such usually last before needing replacement and are the parts that generally fail expensive or hard to obtain? Cosmetically, the exterior is nearly perfect, so I am certain it was well...

After buying, using and having them break several MB electric smokers I'm ready to spend the money on something that will last for years not months. I'm sold on electric and controls. I also would prefer one that a whole hotel pan will fit in. I frequently will cook two butts, 40 chicken thighs and sausage all at the same time so a little smoker wont work. I was looking at the Amerique but two 2018 reviews showed controller failures where years past never had that problem. Did they change to...

Interested in purchasing first pellet Grill. Want something that I can grill and smoke on. First considered Rec Tec Bull—seems to have good bang fo the buck and solid construction with lots of 304 stainless steel, WiFi, but concerned that grilling would be limited. as there is no direct grilling area. Rec Tec Rep claims it foes a great job grilling burgers & steaks with optional searing grates, but I’m skeptical. Read very favorable reviews on MAK 1 Star and 2 Star grills with FlameZone.

Hi All, I am just about to pull the trigger on a 045. There are certain accessories I know I want but I am unsure on the cover. In my case, the cookshack will be stored in a covered deck area. It won't take direct rain but it will certainly get wet during some storms where the rain comes in sideways. I am particularly concerned about the electronic controller on top getting wet. What do you think? Thanks, Bob

<![CDATA[PG1000 ?]]> https://forum.www.0422203715.com/topic/pg1000-1 jeff4au

For someone who wants a little more grill space, and also wants a large smoker... Would it not be cheaper to just buy two of the PG1000's? That gives you Charbroiler type cooking with direct space greater than the CB24. Plus a lot of indirect cooking area. I use our grill on a more regular basis, so we need more direct cooking space than the PG1000 gives. Would love to do the FEC100 and the CB24 but that's a little much on the budget.

I've been singing the praises of my PG500, and Cookshack quality in general, ever since my PG arrived. A friend of mine is intrigued but is looking for something that can accommodate a whole pig. (Larger than a suckling pig. Roughly 3 or 4 feet long.) Clearly the PG500 wouldn't do the trick. What Cookshack model(s) do you use to successfully cook a pig that size?
